Wednesday

Time is running out to see WaterTower Theatre’s “Guadalupe in the Guest Room.” The hilarious comedy about family and cultures coming together is on stage at the Addison Theatre Centre through Sunday.

The Dallas Museum of Art celebrates Berthe Morisot, a founding member of the French Impressionist movement. The international exhibition showcases 70 paintings from public and private collections. It’s on view through May 26. 

Thursday

The Fort Worth Opera hosts UNT Mariachi historian Jose Torres Ramos tonight at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Stop by tonight for a lecture that includes elements of music and storytelling.

KERA host Sam Baker moderates a family-friendly panel discussion at the Winspear Opera House about how STEM and the arts are related. The discussion is part of the Pi Day Festival happening today in the Dallas Arts District.

Friday

The six-time Grammy Award Winning trio, The Chieftains, play at Strauss Square in the  Dallas Arts District tonight. The ensemble is praised for reinventing traditional Irish music.

Theatre Three opens “Foxfire,” this weekend. The play with music is based on an anthology about the history of Appalachian Mountain people. It’s onstage through April 7.

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas continues its exploration of Tennessee Williams’s plays with a production of “The Night of the Iguana.” See it weekends through March 30 at the Irving Arts Center.

Saturday/Sunday

On Saturday, Dallas Black Dance Theatre will travel to Fort Worth to perform highlights from the season. See Dancing Beyond Borders at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.

Dallas’ Latino Cultural Center is home to “Fur.” That’s a new play presented by Teatro Dallas about a hairy young woman sold to a young man with a fetish for animals. Catch a performance on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Lone Star Film Society screens the classic “To Kill a Mockingbird.” The screening’s free and happens at the Four Day Weekend Comedy Theater in Fort Worth.

Throughout the weekend, the Turtle Creek Chorale rocks out at Dallas’ Moody Performance Hall. Head there to hear classic rock songs from Aerosmith, Queen and more.

Monday

Y La Bamba is an eclectic indie folk-pop band from Portland. Critics love their work, including their new release, Mujeres. See them at The Wild Detective in Dallas.

University of North Texas MFA candidate Lyndee Deal showcases ceramic works at an exhibition she calls Live With It. See it at UNT’s Oak Street Hall studio through March 23.

In Sherman, the Forster Art Complex at Austin College has paintings, drawings, and prints on view by Catherine Prose. See the MSU professor’s works in a show called, Nature Observed and Imagined.

Tuesday

The Southeast Campus of Tarrant County College has a series of paintings, prints, and videos from artist Lillian Young. The exhibition titled Redaction touches on themes that are often “omitted” in mainstream African American History.

The New York Baroque Dance Company and the Dallas Bach Society are teaming up for an evening of entertainment. See them perform tonight at the Moody Performance Hall.

In McKinney, The Cotton Mill,  a local events space, is now showing artwork. Right now, you can view the exhibition Resilience: Strength, Healing and Overcoming Adversity.
