Tarrant County College Art Corridor II Presents: “Lillian Young: Redaction”
Featuring paintings, prints, and videos by the artists.
"Lillian Young: Redaction" is a series of paintings, prints, and videos from Artist Lillian Young. Images from history are woven into her work, connecting the stories of African Americans with American history to reveal a more complex telling of that history. Young writes “Redaction is my way of creating a visual timeline that that calls attention to the alarming (and ongoing) trend of redacting/editing American history. The painting, prints and video piece in the show touch on themes that are often “omitted” in mainstream African American History.”
On view: March 7 – April 12, 2019
Opening Reception: Thursday, March 7, 5 - 7 p.m., preceded by a gallery talk by the artist at 1 p.m.
