Putting Guns Center Stage

Teen Actors Explore A National Debate

Gun violence seems intractable, unstoppable. A group of students – members of Cry Havoc, a high school theater company – set out to explore why. Art&Seek followed as their research sent them to Washington D.C. to interview lobbyists and politicians. They met families of victims of suicide and of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. They fired AR-15s at a shooting range, and they were escorted out of the NRA’s national convention.

They will turn their research and experiences into a play. Follow our reports on the making of “Babel.”
