The Big Deal: Tinariwen With Lonnie Holley At Canton Hall

by Gila Espinoza 28 Aug 2019 1:30 AM

Tinariwen (tin-AH-ri-WEN) is a guitar band from northern Mali in West Africa. Considered poet-guitarists, their music expresses the aspirations of their nomadic people, the Tuareg. A recent NPR article said, “The members have been hailed as guitar gods, playing rolling melodic lines and loping rhythms that evoke the desert sands of the Sahara — the band’s native home.” The internationally-recognized band is touring the U.S. this summer and fall and is making a stop in Dallas. Why not impress a friend/date with your taste in musical diversity.  Enter to win tickets to see the group perform with Lonnie Holley on September 14, at Canton Hall in Deep Ellum.

After signing up here, take the time to check out our other offerings this week. Win tickets to see the musical “First Date” at Stage West or to see Kenny G at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Please note: Only Art&Seek newsletter subscribers are eligible for the Big Deal. If you are not already a subscriber, you’ll want to sign up here for the newsletter first before signing up below.
