Lit by Wheron

Texas Theatre

A site-specific installation by Wheron at the Safe Room (Oak Cliff, TX) that fuses illustration, installation & mural works.

The opening reception will feature a Wheron Pop-up including pins, prints, apparel and more.

Will Heron established the art alias and collective “Wheron” in 2012 for both public street art and fine art for gallery exhibitions. Reflecting on his Dallas roots, Wheron’s 2D mixed-media works fuse southern imagery and visual wordplay to create prickly, illustrative compositions that often don’t take themselves too seriously. Wheron’s signature graphic style has been inked onto a wide variety of surfaces, from small paper illustrations to large painted canvases. The core of his current art practice thrives on creating giant public murals, facilitating dynamic interactions among the individual viewers, their community, and his large-scale street art. Public murals by Wheron can be spotted across the DFW metroplex – from the #CACTEX mural in Oak Cliff to the #PRICKLYPAIR mural, nestled in “Inspiration Ally” of Fort Worth. Most recently, the Wheron crew completed a giant wall in Houston, Texas as a featured artist in the 2017 HUE Mural Festival.
