Bishop Arts Theatre Center presents the regional premiere of “Loving and Loving,” running from February 5-28. “Loving and Loving” tells the true love story between Richard and Mildred Loving. The interracial couple from Virginia were both arrested in 1958 for being married after Mildred is pregnant with their first child. The play examines the historic Supreme Court Case, Loving v. Virginia with a modern-day spin. The play is told from a 21st Century perspective, beginning in present-day and flashes back to the 1950s and ’60s. The court case led to laws banning interracial marriage and is remembered annually as Loving Day. The case has been subject to songs and movies, such as the 2016 film “Loving.” Enter to win a pair of tickets to the February 8 performance at Bishop Arts Theatre Center.
