Leave the kiddos at home: this play is definitely one for the grown-ups. WaterTower Theatre’s upcoming production is “Lord of the Flies.” Based on the groundbreaking 1954 novel by William Golding, the dramatic presentation will be sure to have you pondering about the intricacies of human nature. When a posse of schoolboys is marooned on a desert island, it all seems like fun and games. They form a sort of democracy, assign chores and attempt to have fun while waiting to be rescued. As time passes, however, the group splits into opposing tribes: one for civility and one for violence and brutality. A power struggle emerges and escalates into a dangerous, frightening climax. Win this Big Deal and receive a pair of tickets good for the Jan. 29 performance of “Lord of the Flies.”
And if you need something a little less Survivor-ish, sign up for our other Big Deals this week – tickets to the Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts presentation of “Trick Boxing: Swinin’ in The Ring,” or All-Access Festival passes to Thin Line Fest, Denton’s five-day music, film and photography festival.
