Dr. Jerry McCoy began his artistic leadership of Schola Cantorum of Texas/Fort Worth Chorale in 2008. For their 2018-2019 season-closing concert, the ensemble invites you to celebrate Dr. McCoy’s 40-year choral conducting career and his 11 years as Artistic Director/Conductor of Fort Worth Chorale/Schola Cantorum of Texas. For this special program titled, “Cathedral Echoes – I Shall Arise,” the choir will sing some of Dr. McCoy’s favorite sacred music. Selections will include Joseph Rheinberger’s Cantus Missae for double mixed choir joined by the UTA A Cappella Choir, British composer Tarik O’Regan’s Triptych for nine strings and chorus, and the Southwestern premiere of “The Destruction of Sennacherib” by Oscar-winning composer J.A.C. Redford. The UTA A Cappella Choir with conductor Karen Kenaston-French will perform a solo showcase portion of the concert. Win this Big Deal and choose to take your family of 4 to attend the concert on April 7, at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth or on April 8, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington.
