- Two recently discovered works by composer, conductor, and champion of American classical music Howard Hanson will be showcased tonight at TCU’s PepsiCo Recital Hall. Piano Sonata, Op. 11, and Symphonic Rhapsody, Op. 14 will be performed by pianist and recording artist Scott Watkins of Jacksonville University.
- In Richardson, Martsolf Lively Contemporary hosts “Sustainable Inspiration,” a collaborative show featuring the work of painter Melissa Ellis and clothes and jewelry by designer Paulette Martsolf. The exhibition explores the idea that rather than being constantly changing, some art and fashion can stand the test of time.
- New York artist Tom Sachs works within the artistic practice of bricolage, that is, he creates art with whatever materials are at hand. See Sachs’ reworking of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony at Nasher Sculpture Center.
