- Throughout the weekend, the Mesquite Community Theater presents the musical, “Curtains.” A detective tries to solve the murder of a leading lady and while also figuring out how to save the show.
- Also through the weekend, Allen’s Community Theatre performs “Beauty and the Beast.” It’s not the Disney musical, this is a British pantomime with a cast of children from 6 to 16 and fantastic popular songs from the ’50s to the present.
- The ArtCentre Theatre presents William Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy of magic, moonlight, and mischief. Of course, it’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The enchanted play is on stage weekends through Aug. 19.
- On Sunday afternoon, Axon Entertainment presents The Singer-Songwriter Series at Fort Worth’s LightCatcher Winery. Food and wine are for sale, but there’s no cover charge.
