Spring has sprung and Peter Cottontail will be hippy-hopping your way before you know it. Get a jump on the bunny with these weekend Easter-themed events.
Sure, they act like everything is lame, but we all know the big kids want to join in Easter fun, too. Grab your grumpy teens and tweens ages 11-16 and head to Denia Recreation Center in Denton Tuesday night for a free Teen Twilight Egg Hunt. After the sun goes down, teens can grab a flashlight and “hunt” for cool prizes.
Hold on there, the Easter Bunny isn’t done with Denton yet. Get up early Saturday morning for the super-duper Easter Eggstravaganza and Annual City Egg Hunt at Quakertown Park. There will be a bounce house, tons of arts and crafts, and a magic show. At 11:30 a.m. the Egg Hunt begins and kiddos can hunt for over 21,000 filled eggs. Children will be divided into groups based on age and grades, so be sure to arrive early to find your designated group.
Hop on over to St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano for an egg-cellent time this Saturday. In addition to the egg hunt the event will also feature crafts, bounce houses, a train, face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, and balloon animals. And, of course, don’t miss your chance to visit with the Easter Bunny. He’ll be there so bring your camera, a picnic basket and Easter baskets. Lunch will be available for purchase from the Confirmation class.
Everyone knows we do it bigger in Texas and if you want proof of that, mosey on over to the Texas sized Easter Egg Celebration at the Fort Worth Stockyards this Saturday. There will be an Easter egg hunt for all ages that begins at noon, and afterwards, there will be photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, a balloon-animal maker and more. Be sure to stay late and catch the Fort Worth Herd cattle drive. It starts at 4 p.m.
Some-bunny is hatching up some Easter fun this weekend at the GeO Deck. That’s right, the Big Bun himself will be at Reunion Tower Saturday and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. posing for photos 470 feet in the air. After you’ve had your close up with the bunny of the hour, hop down one level to Cloud Nine Café for treats and a sweet 360 degree view of the city.
Put on your best bonnet this Sunday and join the fun at Lee Park & Arlington Hall Conservancy for the Easter in Lee Park 50th Anniversary. Activities include the popular Petropolitan Pooch Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, music and more. Bring a picnic basket and a blanket and relax on the lawn with your favorite bunnies.
