Congratulations to Brian Hamm from Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest! Brian previously won in February for another live music shot. He follows last week’s winner, Ian Aberle of Allen.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Title of photo: Dr. Dog @Granada

Equipment used: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon EF-50mm f/1.4 @f/2

Tell us more about your photo: I had just come off of shooting four days and nights at 35 Denton, and I was rain-soaked and tired. But I had an opportunity to get into the sold-out Dr. Dog show at the Granada (thank you, Gavin!). Ironically, it was the 35 Denton festival last year, where I’d first photographed Dr. Dog. Their show at the Granada was packed. I couldn’t get as close as I would have liked, but I secured myself a decent angle and shot everything from there. The show was amazing. Great energy, positive vibe. It was the perfect ending to a hectic weekend.
