Congratulations to Brian Hamm of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest!

CTA TBD

Congratulations to Brian Hamm of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest! He follows last week’s winner, Oscar Duran of Dallas.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Now here’s more from Brian:

Title of photo: Thurston Moore @Texas Theatre

Equipment used: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon EF 50mm 1.4 (@ f/2)

Tell us more about your photo: I was so happy to see my friends at Spune and KXT conspire to bring Thurston Moore to the historic Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff! They created a beautiful, if unconventional, set with bare light bulbs scattered around the front and back of the stage. The remaining light consisted of two fixed spots being fired from the balcony. I’ve grown accustomed to metering and shooting without a flash in dark environments. Between that, and the unfettered access I was granted (thank you, Spune!), I was able to leave with a set of images that hopefully capture the mood of what was an amazing night.
