Peter Czornyj, the DSO’s vice president of artistic operations, is responsible for putting together the symphony's program for each new season. He will discuss several aspects of that process, such as how to feature specific musicians or composers, how to balance the desires of Dallas audiences and the DSO board, and how to take advantage of visiting conductors. He will also discuss the process and status of the search for a replacement to Maestro Jaap van Zweden. Czornyj has been in his current position since 2014, after working with the Cleveland Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He received a Ph.D. in musicology from The University of Hull, London, and spent a Shakespeare Prize Scholarship Year at the University of Hamburg.
