Kim Corbet introduces the BL Lacerta Legacy Film Series, featuring live scores for classic silent films. The series begins in December with “Gold Rush,” Charlie Chaplin's personal favorite, at the Bath House Cultural Center.
Beginning in 1985, Dallas' premier improvisational ensemble, BL Lacerta, played numerous classic film scores, including a thirteen-year stretch of “Gold Rush” at Club Dada in Deep Ellum.
Performing the score will be Kim Corbet, Del Cook and Matt Shaw, collectively known as Uda Essim Triangle. This handpicked ensemble emerged from an SMU improvisation workshop class known as the POINT ensemble. Corbet calls Uda Essim, "the most promising group of improvisors I've worked with in the 21st Century."
