Seniors who missed "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" can enjoy songs from the show sung by local vocalist Barbara McMillen. McMillen will appear at the Nicholson Memorial Library System’s Senior Social Hour at 2 p.m. on May 18, at the Central Library.
"Beautiful" recounts the early life and career of singer and songwriter Carole King and includes songs written and recorded by King, many from her album "Tapestry." The musical also features songs written and recorded by other artists such as the Drifters, The Shirelles, and The Righteous Brothers. McMillen, a professional musician, songwriting teacher and licensed music therapist will perform a selection of these songs from the musical.
No registration is required to attend the event, but seats do fill up quickly. Doors open 30 minutes prior to performance. Please be aware that photographs and video may be taken at Library programs for use in print and/or electronic media at the Library’s discretion.
