In a highly significant cultural event, pianist Thomas Schwan will return to Caruth Auditorium to perform the entire Second Book of J. S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier. Considered one of the most influential and seminal musical works ever written, and containing music of incomparable beauty, complexity, and spiritual density, The Well-Tempered Clavier is also referred to as the "Old Testament" of Western music. Thomas Schwan was awarded First Prize at the 2020 World Bach Competition in Boulder, Colorado, and his 2019 performance of the First Book of The Well-Tempered Clavier at Caruth Auditorium has since then become a worldwide YouTube success. Free entrance.
