East Texas Symphony Orchestra
Founded in Tyler, Texas in 1936, the East Texas Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to engage, embrace and excite the community through inspiring musical performance. The professional musicians of the ETSO, under the leadership of Music Director Richard Lee, present a series of concerts each season at the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center at the University of Texas at Tyler. In addition, the East Texas Symphony Orchestra Association offers diverse musical programming at Tyler’s intimate downtown venue Liberty Hall. These events range from masterclasses with visiting guest artists to special family concerts to the annual Jazz Spectacular and the ETSO Piano Festival. The orchestra also offers annual education programs for students in both the public and private schools in the region.
