Fort Worth Symphony Conductor Will Step Down In 2020

by Stephanie Kuo 10 May 2018 6:15 PM

The music director of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is leaving that job after nearly two decades at the podium.

The symphony announced Thursday that Miguel Harth-Bedoya will step aside to become “conductor laureate” in Forth Worth after the 2019-2020 season ends.

It’s the second major departure in the North Texas classical-music scene. Jaap Van Zweden is leaving the Dallas Symphony Orchestra to take over the New York Philharmonic this fall.
