Art&Seek Saturday Spotlight

by Stephen Becker 6 Feb 2009 8:56 PM

Art&Seek‘s Saturday Spotlight features One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, presented by the Contemporary Theatre of Dallas. For more on the show:

FIND: Contemporary Theatre of Dallas has more details on the play on its Web site:

REACT: Did you see the play this weekend? If so, drop us a comment to let us know what you thought and what we should expect.

DISCUSS: One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest has taken many forms over the years. It began as Ken Kesey’s novel before being transformed into a stage play and an Oscar-winning movie. But which incarnation is the best? No doubt many of you are most familiar with the movie, but if you have been exposed to the story in multiple forms, which version did you enjoy most?

CREATE: Would you believe Sesame Street of all shows had a little fun with One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest? During an episode of “Monsterpiece Theatre,” Cookie Monster (a.k.a. Alistair Cookie), regales us with the tale of the number 1’s historic flight over a nesting cuckoo. (Watch it here.) But surely this is a work ripe for the spoofing – most great works are. Any ideas?
