Art&Seek Saturday Spotlight

by Stephen Becker 13 Feb 2009 5:50 PM

Art&Seek’s Saturday spotlight features a pair of local productions of Pride and Prejudice: one from Repertory Company Theatre (above) and one from Greater Lewisville Community Theatre. For more on the show:

FIND: Are you interested in attending one (or both) of the shows? Click here for information on the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre’s listing and here for Repertory Company Theatre’s listing.

DISCUSS: Is Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen’s best work? If you think so, you’re sure to get some argument from Sense and Sensibility devotees. And Emma might even enter the conversation. Can anyone make a case as to why one of these rises above the rest?

REACT: If you make it out to either of these performances, we’d love to hear your reaction. And if you make it out to BOTH shows, we’re doubly interested in what you have to say. Be sure to drop us a line in the comments section.

CREATE: Is there a writer who has inspired more fan fiction than Austen? (Outside of the creators of Star Trek, of course.) If you’ve got a link to something you’ve written, you’re welcome to send it along. And if you want to just read what others have written, austen.com – home of the Derbyshire Writers’ Guild – is a good place to start. And if you are an Austen fan looking for something new, you might give this book a try. It retells the P&P story with zombies.  Because what book couldn’t be improved with a few more zombies?
