The Nasher Prize is the only international award devoted entirely to the art of sculpture. It’s given annually to a living sculptor whose work has had an “extraordinary impact” on the art form. Presented by the Nasher Sculpture Center, the $100,000 prize is chosen by a distinguished jury of influential curators, museum directors, artists and art historians. It’s clear from the selection of Nasher laureates, the prize is aiming to gain an audience and a respect for sculpture far beyond the state’s borders.
