Irving Heritage Society
Founded in 1978 as an outgrowth of the American Bicentennial Commission, the Irving Heritage Society began due to a renewed interest in history and the need for an entity to maintain and preserve the Heritage House. Built in 1912, the Irving Heritage House is one of the oldest houses in Irving. It was designated as a Texas State Historical Landmark in 1986 and is open for public tours on the first Sunday of the months March-Dec. A long term goal of the Heritage Society is the establishment of an Irving Museum in the Heritage District.
