Dallas Public Library, J. Erik Jonsson Central Library - Dallas History & Archives Division

The Dallas History & Archives Division of the Dallas Public Library, located on the 7th floor of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, houses one of the largest collections of materials related to Dallas and Texas in the nation.  We preserve and provide access to historic manuscripts, photographs, maps, newspapers, magazines, yearbooks and oral histories.

On permanent display in our galleries is an original broadside printing of the Declaration of Independence, the first printing of the complete works of Shakespeare, known as the "first folio", southwest landscape artist Frank Reaugh's painting Scene on the Brazos, and rotating exhibits throughout the floor and in the Ken Jonsson Fine Books Gallery.
