The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection

The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection is the only museum outside of Japan to focus on the art of the samurai. Located in the Harwood District of Dallas, Texas, the continually growing collection had been selectively amassed by the family of Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller over the past twenty-five years. The Samurai Collection spans from the tenth century to the late nineteenth century. The masterpieces in the collection illustrate the sculptural beauty, mystique and craftsmanship of Japanese armor. Visitors of the Museum are invited to learn about the complex technology that protected the samurai, while experiencing the powerful allure of their armor.
