Wiley College

On Saturday, October 17, 2009, Wiley College will host the Presidential 5K Run and 2K Walk-A-Thon at 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Moore Street and Wiley Avenue.

Wiley College is committed to the social, mental and physical development of its students. The Run/Walk supports The Haywood L. Strickland Presidential Scholarship Fund, established in honor of Wiley College's 16th President, Dr. Haywood L. Strickland. This award provides assistance to academically talented and deserving students who attend Wiley College. The event also helps to promote good health and physical fitness, through walking, jogging and aerobics.

The College gladly invites the community to join us in building an atmosphere of active participation in preventive health. The registration fee for the race is $10 per individual and may be delivered to the Wiley College Office of Development, located at 711 Wiley Avenue, McLeod Hall, Room 201, Marshall, Texas 75670.

You may register on-site on race day beginning at 7:00 a.m., but souvenir materials will not be guaranteed for race participants registering the day of the race. Contributions towards the scholarship fund are accepted. All proceeds will benefit the Haywood L. Strickland Presidential Scholarship Fund.
