Texas Nonprofit Theatres, Inc. (TNT) is a statewide service organization for all nonprofit theatres in Texas.
TNT provides:
1. Networking and consultant services to not for profit theatres in Texas in areas of: organizational structure, staff development, budget development, capital fund drives, building advocacy, funding for general operations, implementing seasonal sales, and development of artistic philosophy.
2. Liaison service to the Texas Commission on the Arts under the Arts Plan for Statewide Services, handling all theatre referrals from the Commission.
3. Statewide assessment of funding needs.
4. An annual theatre Conference offering workshops on a variety of subjects including: grant writing, planning fundraisers, computer application, and design (set, lighting and costume).
5. An annual Youth Conference offering workshops for young performers in many disciplines, including: Improvisation, Mime, Acting, Movement, Mask Making, and Careers in Theatre/Film; and for youth directors in: Curriculum and Development, Script Resources, Fundraising, and Using Creative Drama.
6. Publication of a monthly e-newsletter, quarterly newsletter, and statewide directory.
7. Facilitation of the biennial American Association of Community Theatre Festival (AACT/Fest Texas).
8. A website (www.texastheatres.org) listing job opportunities, theatre seasons, links to useful sites, an archive database of all known theatre productions in the state of Texas, and TNT programs.
9. An internship program that employs college and/or university theatre students during the summer, provides students with practical experience, and provides TNT member theatres with competent workers.
10. TNT POPS! (Production of Play Scripts) - a competition for new plays on non-festival years.
11. A script lending library - with over 2,500 titles listed on the website for perusal.
12. Ongoing technical support via phone, fax, e-mail, and site visits.
