Trees a Crowd

Weatherford College - Marjorie Alkek Fine Arts Center

Weatherford College presents “Trees A Crowd” Sept. 27-29 in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.

This children’s production is part of the college’s annual children’s touring theatre troupe arranged by Joe Nicikowski who also directs the show.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Doors open a half hour prior to show time, and admission is free.

“Trees A Crowd” is revolved around Abi, a little girl who follows a couple of woodland sprites, Mim and Pim, into the woods out of curiosity. However, they quickly discover she is now trapped in the woods and can’t return to her mother. The sprites decide to help her by taking her to see several magical woodland creatures in hopes of finding a way to get Abi home.

“They visit the wise old Mr. Owl Oliver, the kittens of curiosity who see all, and have to confront the powerful wizard ape known as Gronn-Gronn,” Nicikowski said. “Will the sprites be able to help Abi get home? Will they figure out what is causing her to be stuck in the woods? Will they ever find out why Pim is wearing a banana in his hair? We can only hope so.”

The show runs approximately 30 minutes and is fun for all ages.
In addition to performances at Weatherford College, the troupe will travel to local schools to perform for area children.
