Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is thrilled to present the clever, tender musical, The Fantasticks, as the opening production of its 2019-2020 season. With Book and Lyrics by Tom Jones and Music by Harvey Schmidt, the show runs September 27 – October 20 under the direction of Rita Powers.
“Try to Remember” a time when this funny and romantic musical wasn’t charming audiences around the world. This is the timeless story of a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart. The narrator, El Gallo, asks us to use our imagination and follow them into a world of moonlight and magic. This moving tale of young lovers who become disillusioned, only to discover a more mature, meaningful love, is punctuated by a bountiful series of catchy, memorable songs, many of which have become classics.
