Americana music artist Claudia Nygaard is not from Texas; however, because she grew up in California and lives in Nashville, TN, she's crossed the state many times. She is currently waltzing across Texas in support of her new CD Lucky Girl produced by the noted, Grammy-winning Neilson Hubbard. The new album, full of heartfelt, humorous and sensual songs, will be celebrated in a CD release event on September 20 at Opening Bell Coffee in Dallas, known as Dallas' best acoustic live music venue and coffee bar. With a quick wit, a twinkle in her eye, and an amber honey voice, Claudia Nygaard delivers scrappy topical songs. A former staff songwriter from Nashville’s music row, Nygaard is a winner of both the Tumbleweed and Kerrville Folk Festival Songwriting Competitions.
She is gathering high praise for the new CD, which Americana Highways says has songs "ripped right out of our tumultuous country, and sung with such strong belief that it feels like a come-to-Jesus experience." Country Standard Time states "Veteran singer-songwriter Claudia Nygaard is fearless. The lyrics in her songs will cause double-takes. Her rawness and honesty cut much deeper than most." Her release event is set for 7 PM at the intimate listening room, Opening Bell Coffee, on South Lamar St. on Friday, Sept. 20th.
