American Dreamer brings a heavy dose of strings to their unique blend of Indie-Folk. The group’s music begins with honest, relatable Folk tunes, which are then elevated and interwoven with lush string arrangements (violin, cello, bass), and energized with three-part harmony. They strive to explore the commonalities between and seek out the space within these diverse genres and in doing so have crafted a textured, lush style unique onto itself.

American Dreamer’s member's met pursuing graduate degrees at UT’s Butler School of Music and share a lifelong passion for relentlessly crafting their art and using their music to connect with individuals and communities. With their music, they strive to honor America’s deeply rooted Folk tradition while exploring a contemporary element that rolls Folk into the new millennium.

The group unites three classically trained string players, a rock drummer, and a folk singer to create a sound the group calls ‘Orchestral Folk.’ They are comprised of Sasha Klare-Ayvazian (vocals, guitar), Dana Marie (vocals, bass), Camille Schiess (vocals, violin) Courtney Castaneda (cello), and Rick Palese (drums).

While their music is fundamentally simple, it unfolds into a multi-layered soundscape. Beautifully blended strings coupled with honest lyrics and rich vocal harmonies provide listeners with a lot to sink their ears into.
