Call for Class & Workshop Proposals: Art Room Teaching Artist

Art Room

Art Room offers a variety of classes and workshops throughout the year at the Art Room Annex. We provide room for creative dialogue and discovery as we bring together students and artists to grow as creative makers and critical thinkers. We invite local artists to collaborate with Art Room and our mission to create a space for artistic experimentation and research. During classes and workshops held at the Art Room Annex, multi-generational artists and students can come together to develop their craft and skills, while making time to simply create art in an exciting and inspirational setting.

  • Classes are offered on a rotating four to eight-week schedule
(Classes meet once a week for a set number of consecutive weeks for a three-hour class period.)
  • Workshops are one to two-day sessions.
(Workshops meet for two to six hours per day.)

Instructors of classes and workshops at the Art Room Annex earn 20% of the tuition earnings or a wage of $20 per instructional hour—whichever is the higher-earning. This payment structure is based on the requirement of a minimum of five enrolled students in said instructor’s class or workshop. If the minimum enrollment is not met, instructors will earn a wage of $15 per instructional hour.

We welcome proposals from artists and educators who wish to instruct a class or workshop at Art Room. Tuition rates vary depending on the duration of the class and workshop, as well as the budget for materials and supplies. All mediums are appreciated. Art Room looks forward to creative class or workshop proposals—we maintain a flexible and innovative approach to our Art Room Annex offerings.
