Fierce, fiery Celtic rock!

Since their highly anticipated debut in 2017, Dallas-based Rathmore has quickly established themselves as a Celtic rock band for audiences of all ages. The band’s contemporary take on traditional Celtic tunes is one of the many ways they create a family-friendly soundscape, combining time-honored music traditions with their original take on the genre. Band members, Mike Urness (guitar), Matt Willis (bagpipes), Gary Thorne (bass), Matt Thompson (drums) and Katrina Glaze (fiddle) bring their combined years of talent, expertise and passion to create new sounds with beloved, traditional tunes as their foundation. Helping to showcase their talents is the irresistible charm of tunes like “Molly Malone” and “The Ferryman,” which are on their newly released EP, Mooncoin, (available on iTunes and Spotify), and also features a jig by the same name. As former members of The Killdares, Matt Willis, Gary and Mike are well-known artists in the Celtic music community and have brought along a devoted following as Rathmore is beginning to make its mark. With the addition of Matt Thompson and Katrina to the band’s lineup, Rathmore’s quintessential sound encourages their fans to sing and dance along to their high energy and creativity while taking part in the camaraderie and chemistry the band so obviously enjoys on and off stage. Rathmore can be seen this fall in multiple performances at the State Fair of Texas.

Concerts are FREE and family-friendly, except for the 38 Special concert on Oct. 5, which requires a ticket purchase. The Levitt Pavilion is located at 100 W. Abram St. in Founders Plaza on the corner of Abram and Center streets. For directions and parking, please see Directions & Parking. The Levitt is an open-lawn seating, outdoor concert venue. Visitors to the FREE concerts should bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Picnics and coolers are welcome to the FREE concerts. Please do not bring glass containers to the Levitt.
