PrintShop a Go-Go 2: Free Printmaking Workshop All Ages


Oak Cliff Cultural Center

Learn the basics of printmaking, new techniques, and make color prints with Matt Bagley of Iron Frog Press and creator of the Print Frog®. This workshop is open to all skill levels from kids to pros. It is broken down into three smaller workshops:

10 am - 4 pm Adult 2-Color Linocut Workshop
(Limit 10) Must sign up in advance
12 pm - 4 pm All Ages CMYK Color Theory Workshop
(Unlimited) Come and go.
12 pm - 4 pm All Ages Foam-Plate Collagraph Workshop
(Unlimited) Come and go.

CMYK COLOR THEORY WORKSHOP

Artists of all ages will have fun learning about the complex world of color using printmaking. Participants can expect to take home multiple colorful, unique monotypes. Ages 6+ are welcome, and parents are encouraged to get involved in this fun-creative experience. *Younger children may participate if closely supervised by a parent. PROJECT TIME: about 30 minutes

FOAM-PLATE COLLAGRAPH WORKSHOP

In this, all ages, workshop artists will learn plate making, typesetting, printing editions, and how printmaking can give the artist a voice. There will be some pre-cut shapes and type provided to help in creating their print imagery. Ages 6+ are welcome to participate, and parents are encouraged to get involved in this fun-creative workshop. *Younger children may participate if closely supervised by a parent. PROJECT TIME: about 30 minutes

2-COLOR LINOCUT WORKSHOP

Adults will learn the process to complete a two-color linocut, including transfer methods, cutting techniques, and registration. Artists will print they're fine art edition using the skills and tricks to enable them to continue printmaking. PROJECT TIME: about 6 hrs.
