Mighty Fine Arts presents "The Return of Ant Colony Gallery" featuring new work by Ayman Alamoudi, Carroll Swenson Roberts, Derrick White, Doug Land, Hubert Winnubst, Nancy Ferro. Teresa Megahan, Olivia Garcia Hassell and Jon Fontenot.
This show opens with a reception for the artists Saturday July 13 and will run till Aug 25.
Ant Colony Gallery was opened in August 2013 by Manuel Pecina as a space to nurture under recognized artists and broaden exposure to talent that he didn't see represented in other venues. The gallery was located at the corner of 7th and Tyler Streets in fabulous Oak Cliff and in its brief run managed to present a stellar array of exhibits and events. Ant Colony was a co-host of the legendary Savage Impressions event that was a defining moment in the OC aesthetic. This show will celebrate the generous spirit of Manuel Pecina and his contribution to culture in the Cliff as well as to the North Texas art scene. Ant Colony called it quits in Nov 2015 but "The Return of Ant Colony Gallery" will showcase some of the artists that exemplified Manuel's visionary choices.
