Journal Watercolor Workshop

Dallas Contemporary

"For me, it’s better to be in-between -- to fall in between the cracks. If you're not completely a part of a place, you can see it more clearly." - Francesco Clemente

Artist Francesco Clemente observes the world from the vantage point of the in-between. Living nomadically, Clemente melds his observations of various cultures and their histories in works of art that speak to shared human experiences. Clemente’s layered cultural references align to create dreamlike worlds where figures want, suffer, and strive for better futures.

Inspired by Clemente’s roving lifestyle, this workshop is designed for participants to learn basic watercolor and journaling skills that can be used to observe, record, and reflect on life’s travels.

Led by educator and artist Amy Dierdorf. All skill levels are welcome!
