Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony — aptly named for the king of the gods — puts us on a trajectory from the spirited first movement, with trumpets and drums lending a regal air,to a magnificent fugue in the exuberant finale. Often seen as a harbinger of the Romantic period, Mozart’s intimate A Major Piano Concerto with a sunny disposition engages us with poignancy and serenity, making it one of his most popular.
