Summer Art Camp: Fibers, Fabrics & Fashion (Ages 9-12)

Dallas Museum of Art

July 8-12, 9:00 a.m.-noon

Ages 9-12
Teacher: Amanda Batson Tucker

If you love to create with needle and thread, felt and fabric, and art that you can wear, then this camp is for you! Take a closer look at textiles from Indonesia, quilts from 1900s America, costumes from Africa, and global gowns from the fashion house of Dior, and then make your own one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. Explore various fiber techniques, create with unconventional materials, and test yourself in "make it work" moments. Please note: Sewing skills will not be taught in this camp.

$210 public, $175 DMA Member; tickets go on sale March 2 at 10:00 a.m. DMA Members may register early on March 1.

Lunch Bunch (limited to 6–12-year-olds)
Summer campers who are registered for a morning and afternoon camp on the same day are invited to stay for a one-hour supervised lunch. Please bring a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration.
