Summer Art Camp: Behind the Scenes (Ages 9-12)

Dallas Museum of Art

June 24-28, 9:00 a.m.-noon

Ages 9-12
Teacher: Mark Gutting

Behind every book cover is a tale of adventure, suspense, comedy, or romance. What's the story behind your favorite painting or sculpture? Fellow book nerds and art geeks unite! This camp is all about stories—hidden and visible, in words or in pictures—that inspire artists to create. Take a closer look at the stories behind the masterpieces in the Museum's galleries, and then grab a paintbrush or pencil and craft your own story-art in the studio.

$210 public, $175 DMA Member; tickets go on sale March 2 at 10:00 a.m. DMA Members may register early on March 1.

Lunch Bunch (limited to 6–12-year-olds)
Summer campers who are registered for a morning and afternoon camp on the same day are invited to stay for a one-hour supervised lunch. Please bring a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration.
