2-Week Harold and the Purple Crayon Production Camp, presented by Adapt2Act (Ages 10-18)

The Luckenbooth Theatre

Adapt2Act's Premiere Production!

In this new stage adaptation of Crockett Johnson’s beloved book, Director, Megan Hildebrand, will be looking for actors age 10 - 18 and everyone who auditions will be cast. Auditions will take place on the first day of camp and consist of cold readings from the script. Luckenbooth's Adapt2Act program is designed specifically for children and teens with special needs and offers classes, productions and access to Season events via specialized Relaxed Performances. Harold and the Purple Crayon will pair each actor with an acting coach (a fellow, able-bodied Academy student) who will assist with their development through rehearsals and shadow them during performances.

The cast will rehearse M - F from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning July 8 and continuing through July 18. Parents will be able to drop actors off as early as 8:30 a.m. The show will perform July 19 - 21.

Interested actors need to register online and pay the production fee prior to July 8. Our $375 production fee, an industry standard among top-ranking children's theatres nationwide, covers all production materials for each actor, costumes, comp tickets for parents, a professional headshot session with our company photographer, cast party, and liability insurance. Financial assistance is available upon request.
