ANCIENT ROCK ART OF THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST
(Visual Arts/Painting/Drawing/Art History/Cultural Studies)
Campers will explore the Stone Age Art of ancient indigenous people of the American Southwest including petroglyphs and pictographs.

Kinetic Art is art that contains movement perceived by the viewer (an optical illusion) or that relies on actual motion for its effect. Projects will include Op Art-embellished gears and fidget spinners as well as articulated people and animal constructions that can move.

Students will make small fossil molds imprinted with shells, leaves, feathers and small objects.

Campers will study the solar system with the help of planetary images found on NASA’s website and then create their own cosmic art masterpieces with dripped and poured paint on a round surface.
Instructor: Linda Disosway
Inspired by our summer’s camp theme, dancers will explore music and dance moves from the expansive era of rock ‘n’ roll while learning the fundamentals. Class includes warm-ups, progressions and combinations. Comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes are recommended. No sandals or flip flops, please.
