Ages 12 and up

This 3-hour workshop will focus on the basics of human proportion with an emphasis on facial features.  Each student will sculpt one or two heads using a low fire clay, and add color as desired using underglazes.  We will discuss hand building techniques, adding texture, and instilling a personal narrative.  This workshop is open to all skill levels, though some clay experience may be helpful.

Teresa Larrabee is a figurative artist who blends multiple mediums into her work.  She utilizes her background in anatomy, theater, and craft store binges to create both doll-sized and larger-than-life sculptures and installations.  She has been sculpting clay figures since 2006, and has taught several classes on hand building and mold making.  She currently teaches at the University of North Texas, where she is completing her Master of Fine Arts degree.
