Celebrate the power of creativity and all the ways we MAKE in this fun-filled day of FREE activities for the entire family.

Open Studio: Pastel Portraits
11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Art Studio, Center for Creative Connections (C3)
Express yourself! Drop by the studio and use oil pastels to create a portrait that's picture perfect.

Toddler Sensory Play Room
11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., C3 Theater
Jump start your senses at one of our play stations just for children ages 2 and under. Play with pots and pans, crawl through a tunnel, dance with scarves, explore musical instruments, and much more!

Meet and Make with an Artist: ArtsCream Truck with Arnoldo Hurtado
11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Main Entrance
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ARTScream! Stop by the ArtsCream Truck to meet local artist Arnoldo Hurtado, take a peek in his art gallery on wheels, and work with family and friends to paint a community mural.

Stop by and say hello to mombassadors from Dallas Childmake your own set of bunny ears for a festive spring look, and pick up the latest edition of Dallas Child magazine.

Go on a whirlwind adventure through the Museum galleries and explore the many ways artists around the world MAKE and CREATE on this interactive tour of the DMA's collection led by education staff. Tour is limited to the first 30 attendees.

Road, River . . . ROCK! with Nancy Worcester and Her Friends
Noon–1:00 p.m., Horchow Auditorium
Ventriloquist Nancy Worcester and her friends Waco the Weasel and Larry the Crocodile will tickle your funny bone and teach heartwarming lessons about how to walk a mile in someone else's shoes.

Monument Makers with the DMA Teen Advisory Council
Noon–2:00 p.m., Fleischner Courtyard
Art is better when created together! Collaborate with the DMA Teen Advisory Council and other visitors to create a community art piece inspired by what makes you and your family monumental.

Meet and Make with an Artist: My ABZoo with Natalia Padilla
Noon–3:00 p.m., Tech Lab, C3
A is for alpaca, B is for búho (owl), and C is for conejo (rabbit)! Learn how artist Natalia Padilla transforms ordinary letters into extraordinary animals, and try your hand at making a little ABC magic too.

Food for Thought
Noon–6:00 p.m., Klyde Warren Park
Share family food stories and create a memento of your favorite food inspired by C3 Visiting Artist Karla Garcia's Carrito de Memorias installation.

12:30–2:30 p.m., Center for Creative Connections Gallery
Get sew into decorative arts and meet master quilter Denise Bartosh. See what's on the inside of these beautiful fabric works of art, learn about quilts from the 1930s, and try your hand at designing your own quilt square.

Arts & Letters Live BooksmART event: Dreamers with Yuyi Morales

2:00–2:45 p.m., Horchow Auditorium
Caldecott Honor artist and six-time Pura Belpré winner Yuyi Morales shares her personal story through her picture book Dreamers. In 1994 she left her home in Xalapa, Mexico, and came to the US with her infant son. She left behind nearly everything she owned, but brought her strength, passion, hopes, dreams, and stories with her. Dreamers is a story about family, making a home in a new place, and the inspiration found in stories and libraries. This interactive presentation is largely in English but incorporates some Spanish. Free tickets available online in advance at DMA.org/all. 100+ tickets will be available the day of the festival and are first-come, first served at the Will Call Desk near Horchow Auditorium beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Book Signing with Yuyi Morales

3:00–3:45 p.m., DMA Store
Purchase copies of Dreamers or other books by award-winning author-illustrator Yuyi Morales in the DMA Store (or bring your own copies), meet her personally, and have her sign your books. Selected books are available in English and Spanish.

Performance in the Atrium featuring L.V. Stockard Middle School Mariachi Pantera De Oro!
3:00 p.m., Atrium
Enjoy the musical styles of this outstanding Dallas student ensemble as they play music from Mexico featuring violin, guitar, vihuela, and gutiarron. Wearing brightly colored traditional traje de charro, these talented students bring a festive atmosphere to their performance!

4:00 p.m.
Meet and Make with an Artist: Make Your Own Book Workshop with Yuyi Morales

4:10–5:00 p.m., Art Studio, C3
Bring your own story to life by creating a book made out of cardboard, paper, and ribbon. Designed for children ages 6 and older to attend with a favorite adult. Advance tickets required; request your tickets online at DMA.org/all or call 214-922-1818. Materials provided.
