Spring Break at the DMA


Dallas Museum of Art

You're invited to our Spring Break garden party! Let your creativity bloom at this fun-filled week of nature-themed art making, guided tours, story times, and gallery activities for families, all inspired by works of art in the DMA's collection.

Spring Break programs are FREE and held daily March 12–15.

Art Spot
11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., 
Center for Creative Connections (C3)
Find inspiration in works of art in the DMA's collection, from colorful quilts to an acrylic chair. Drop by to design your own chair, play with our weaving wall, share a memory, and more.

Family Gallery Guides
11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Family Fun Cart, Level 1 near the main Visitor Services Desk
Pick up a guide and learn about selected works of art in the DMA’s collection.

Story Time
11:30 a.m.–noon, 
Meet at the main Visitor Services Desk
Story Time is limited to the first 30 participants. Pick up your free ticket at the main Visitor Services Desk at 11:20 a.m.
Plant the seed and let your imagination grow during story time led by education staff members in the Museum galleries.

Pop-Up Art Spot
Noon–2:00 p.m., Level 2
Visit the Pop-Up Art Spot to experience art in a new way! Dress up as a character, listen to songs scored by local musicians, or imagine a fantastical landscape inspired by nearby works of art.

En Plein Air Sketching
Noon2:00 p.m., Fleischner Courtyard
En plein air is French for "outside." Visit the transformed Fleischner Courtyard for an outdoor sketching experience inspired by French Impressionist artists.

The Bloom Room
1:00–4:00 p.m., 
Tech Lab, C3
Visit the Tech Lab to play a game of wildflower bingo, squish some kinetic sand, or strike a pose in our photo booth. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses at our scent matching station!

In the Garden
1:00–4:00 p.m., 
Art Studio, C3
Drop by the studio to design your own floral collage-drawing and then work with family and friends to help us convert the wall of our studio into a lush garden mural.

Girl Power (half) Hour Family Tour
2:00–2:30 p.m., Meet at the main Visitor Services Desk
Two tours available (one in English, one in Spanish), each limited to the first 30 participants. Pick up your free ticket at the main Visitor Services Desk at 1:50 p.m.
Did you know March is Women's History Month? Help us celebrate women in art on this interactive tour led by DMA educators.
