Celebrate National Letter Writing Month by attending the 3rd Annual Address Me: Everything Needed to Send a Piece of You.
Address Me will provide dozens of stationery and postcard options, working typewriters, stamps, pens, washi tape, and tips on the art of letter writing. All you’ll need is the address of a loved one.
Activities also include an exhibit of vintage letters, including correspondences of local significance, curated by the Dallas Public Library; artists and calligraphers from Kaligrafos to hand-address your envelopes; fountain pen tutorials with the Dallas Pen Club; and the opportunity to write secret notes of encouragement with Spread Joy 24-7.
Letter writing shouldn’t be a dying art. Expressive writing has been linked to stress reduction and an overall sense of well-being. Virginia Woolf called it “the humane art, which owes its origins to the love of friends” and Emily Dickinson likened it to immortality.
Partners include: Dallas Arts Month, Dallas Pen Club, Dallas Public Library, Kaligrafos Calligraphy Guild, Lone Star Letter Writers, Spread Joy 24-7, The Wild Detectives
Attendance and writing supplies are free. Donations welcome.
