Hailed as "outstanding" by Raymond Mase of the Juilliard School, the Chicago-based Gaudete Brass Quintet has committed itself to presenting serious brass chamber music through compelling concert, commissioning new works, and adventurous recordings since its founding in 2004. In addition to a rigorous touring schedule, Gaudete regularly embarks upon some of the nation's elite music education programs, including at the Juilliard School of Music. Named after the Latin word for "joy," Gaudete believes that music can powerfully communicate the poignant and the exuberant.
