Afternoon Tea at the Aldredge House

Aldredge House

Do you want to learn all about the beloved ritual of a proper Victorian tea? The Friends of Aldredge House has just the event for you. On March 10, afternoon tea will be held at the landmark Aldredge House in the heart of the Swiss Avenue Historic District.

Co-sponsored by the FOAH and Talulah & Hess, the tea will provide guests an opportunity to learn all about this classic tradition of a bygone era. Evelyn Montgomery, Ph.D. curator of the Old Red Courthouse, will lead you through the appropriate steps of a British ritual dating back to the days of Queen Victoria.

The afternoon tea, which has become a favorite event for mothers and their daughters, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the home at 5500 Swiss Avenue. Guests are encouraged to dress smartly and wear hats and gloves.

Tickets for the tea are $40 per person and $35 for Friends of Aldredge House members. They can be purchased online at friendsofaldredgehouse.org. For more information, email [email protected].

The Friends of Aldredge House is a nonprofit organization established to provide long term financial security and support for one of Dallas' most architecturally significant homes. The Dallas County Medical Society Alliance Foundation owns the Aldredge House and has meticulously preserved the 102-year-old home.  It is the goal of the FOAH to maintain the house as a museum home and meeting space for educational outreach on preservation.
