Artist Talk with Gfeller + HellsgårdMoudy North Building, room 132Wednesday, February 27th, 1-2pm
The Art Galleries at TCU are pleased to announce their collaboration with guest artists Gfeller + Hellsgård in the exhibition “No no no no I want you to be wide awake and hear details you’ve never heard before! Featuring a new, site-specific print installation with large, temporary wooden structures. This exhibition runs March 7 – May 4 at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts.
Christian Gfeller and Anna Hellsgård have been working together since 2001 and are recognized for their commitment to rethinking and stretching the limits of the screen-printing process through experimentation. The French-Swedish duo work across a wide range of media, including zines, books, posters, installation and painting, and their vibrant style is best described as a hybrid of handcraft, punk and pop abstraction.
No no no no I want you to be wide awake and hear details you’ve never heard before! will open with a reception for the artists at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts on Thursday, March 7, 5-7 p.m. Audiences are invited to join the artists at the free opening reception where they are available to discuss their studio practice and answer questions regarding their work.
This exhibition is programmed as part of Texchange, the 2019 SGC International Conference, happening in Dallas from March 6 - 9, 2019. SGC International is an educational non-profit organization committed to informing their membership about issues and processes concerning original prints, drawings, book arts, and handmade paper. www.sgcinternational.org
