The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site invites you to celebrate Presidents’ Day on February 16, 2019, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Eisenhower Birthplace at 609 South Lamar Avenue in Denison, Texas. The event is for children ages 12 and younger and their families.
The Eisenhower Birthplace joins the celebration of honoring our presidents with special attention paid to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was born in beautiful Denison, Texas in 1890. As the 34th President of the United States, he was responsible for the creation of NASA, championed the Interstate Highway System in 1956, and added Alaska and Hawaii as the 49th and 50th states, respectively.
On Saturday, February 16th, visit the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site any time between 10 am to 12 pm to enjoy President Day’s activities that include arts and crafts, a presidential podium photo shoot, games, story time, trivia challenges, and a tour of the house where President Eisenhower was born. On display will be a special exhibit of life-size posters of Presidents Washington, Lincoln and Eisenhower created by Denison High School art students under the leadership of Elizabeth Schielack.
Cost is paid admission to the site (family rate: $8 - 2 adults 1 child or 1 adult and 2 children, each additional child $1). For more information, please contact Robin Cole-Jett at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site: 903-465-8908 or [email protected].
