Heavy Metal – An Eclectic Mix represents the perfect mismatch, a plaid-on-plaid combination of styles and composers in which absolutely nothing goes together! The program will feature a selection of “heavy metal,” music scored for metallic instruments, including flute, saxophones, percussion and brass. The MWE will perform works by Jim Stephenson, Eric Ewazen, Giovanni Gabrieli and Edgard Varèse, and the world premiere of a new work by Meadows composer Robert Frank.
